✨ A Grandparent’s Storybook
One grandfather surprised us …
At Baby Yearbooks, we created our app for moms to capture their baby’s first year. But one grandfather surprised us — he’s using it to create something entirely new: a Grandparent’s Storybook.
So we’re considering developing the concept! And we’d greatly appreciate your feedback ♥️
See bottom of post for a quick form.
“What if your grandchildren could open a book and relive your favorite memories together — hear your stories, see your photos and videos — even watch you tell them in your own words?”
What is the Concept?
A Grandparent’s Storybook is a beautiful hard cover book you create that captures the special moments you’ve shared with your grandchildren. Birthdays, holidays, trips, or even quiet afternoons — each memory comes to life with:.
Photos and short captions
Video clips (each playable from the book with unique QR codes)
Narrations in your own voice — audio or video — transcribed as well as playable via QR code
“Bobby — here’s a time you made me especially proud!?”
The result is a beautiful hardcover book that celebrates your relationship with your grandchildren — not a memoir of your life, but the story of your time with them.
And along the way, you’ll have as much fun creating it as they will enjoying it — because every photo, video, and story you add brings those special moments back to life for you too.
Why It Matters
A gift that brings you closer:
Make the miles disappear: Even if you live miles apart, turning the page makes grandchildren feel your presence and love.
A joyful shared experience: Imagine sitting down and reading the stories together before gifting them their own copy.
Voices and faces remembered: Choose audio narration, video narration, or both — so your grandkids can always hear (and even see) you telling the story.
A lasting treasure: Long after toys and gadgets are forgotten— and long after you're gone, this book will remind them of your bond.
One Grandfather’s Story
The grandfather who inspired this idea is currently doing it for his own grandkids. He’s 72 years old and not very technical … so he says he’s that if he can do it, anyone can!
He’s already added many stories, initially with photos and videos. He’s now circling back and adding his memories associated with the stories, sometimes typing and sometimes recording video/audio narrations so his grandchildren can hear his voice.
He told us he’s loving building the book — reliving those moments as he creates. And he can’t wait to sit down with his grandkids, read the stories aloud, and then gift them a keepsake-quality hardcover book they’ll treasure forever.
