Getting Started

Baby and Mom's hands

Congratulations on starting your Baby Yearbooks journey!

So you’ve arrived at your home page—now what? Let’s dive in and create a test story. Play around and have fun — you can delete it later.

Here’s how to get started:

1. Choose a Chapter

Your story needs a home.

  • Pick a chapter where your story would live, like “The Pregnancy Journey” or “Welcome to the World”

  • Your story will show up in that chapter and in the “All Stories” list for easy access, sorted by most recently touched

  • You can always change chapters in the future if you decide to rearrange

2. Tap the Plus Button ➕

This is where the magic begins!

  • Tapping the plus button gives you lots of options to create your story. Add pictures, video, text, or audio

3. Create a story 🎥

You can start with any option but why not try recording a quick video selfie? You can easily delete this test story later

  • For this first story, keep it casual—maybe talk about the weather 🌦️

  • Once your video is processed, you’ll see a transcription (which you can edit anytime).

  • In your printed book, you can include the video, the transcription, or both—it’s up to you!

4. Add a Few Photos or Videos 📸

Add your best pix or vids! For this test, go ahead and add anything.

  • Tap the plus button inside your story to add pictures or videos wherever you like.

  • Mix and match—there’s no wrong way to do it.

  • The reason to take a few minutes every week or two to create a story is that it’s SO much easier to select from only your most recent media instead of having to go back a year from now to find the best of the best.

5. Set the Date 📅

Want to backdate your story to match a specific moment? No problem!

  • We auto-enter today’s date to save you several seconds on every story 😄

  • No need to have an end date. Those are useful for family trips that cover a week or maybe a visit with the Grandparents for a weekend. Otherwise, no need

6. Pick a Title 🖋️

Titles make your stories easier to find and add personality to your book. And it feels good to look at them on your home page 😄

  • Don’t stress — titles can be edited anytime.

  • If you leave it blank, we’ll just set it for today’s date too

7. Add a Cover Photo 🌟

Make your story feel extra good!

  • If you’ve added pictures, we’ll auto-select the first one as the cover. More seconds saved 😄

  • Prefer a different photo? No problem, just select a different one or upload a new one.

  • No photo yet? That’s okay—you can always add one later.

  • When you're at your homepage later, you'll see this picture in the tile for this story

BOOM! You’re Done! 🎉

That’s it—you’ve just created your first story! How easy was that?

Now that you’ve experimented, go ahead and create a real story whenever it suits you. Each story you create will be a special memory, and they’ll all come together to form a beautiful keepsake book.

Stay tuned for more tips and inspiration on our blog. Happy storytelling! 😊
